MOPerations Weekly: Wednesday, June 5th, 2024

#1 - A little about my week

Hi, and welcome to the second edition of MOPerations Weekly! It’s been a crazy week for me, personally and professionally. On a personal level, my wife flew to London for 5 days, so I got to take care of our 3 little ones - we had a great time! On a professional level, my favorite task this week was to build out a dashboard on Tableau that showed whether the things we look at to determine upsell likelihood is correct or if we need to adjust the formulas - was a complicated one but definitely fun to create!

A Weekly Tip

A workaround tip to help your SDR/BDR Team:

As part of some of the improvements to our lead conversion process, I changed the Lead layout to try and improve our SDRs' prospecting experience. All was going well, except for the fact that I couldn't find the field that they asked for on the Lead called "Last Activity" - which is actually one of the most important fields for them to see. It turns out Salesforce does not allow you to add it to the page layout (btw Salesforce - why not?).

Anyway, the workaround is to create a simple custom formula date field called Last Activity Date, that pulls in the standard Salesforce field. And now the SDR team can see it on every lead, both on the Compact Layout on the top and as a field lower down.

SDRs work really hard, the least we can do is make it as easy as possible for them.

What things have you implemented to help them?

Spotlight on Tech - Wistia

I am a big fan of tech consolidation, which I will write about in the next couple of newsletters. Perhaps my favorite one so far was Wistia.

Wistia on its own is a great tool for hosting videos, giving analytics and areas to use gated content, CTAs, and most importantly for me - has a great integration into HubSpot.

As we were thinking about renewing a Webinar platform that rhymes with MightWalk, I noticed that Wistia has its own live video functionality. And sure enough, after trying a few Webinars on Wistia, it runs pretty smoothly, and I don’t feel like we are losing anything by not having the tool that rhymes with MightWalk (besides a set number of garbage leads that attend if we had bought the lead gen packages).
